Keeper Provisions

The rules for who you get to keep, what it costs you, and how long you can hang on to them.

  1. Each GM may retain a maximum of two (2) keepers. Bumped up from one keeper, by league vote in 2024.
  2. Keeper cost is the player's draft round minus one, going up a round for each additional year you keep them. Exclusions: no multiple keepers costing a 1st-round pick; no two keepers may share the same round cost. Exception: a 1st-round pick may be used to keep a player who was already a 1st-round keeper the prior year.
  3. Keeper cost for an undrafted free agent (UDFA) is a last-round pick the following year. Previously priced at the player's ADP for the current-year draft.
  4. Keeper cost is locked in for the following year regardless of trades or waiver-wire moves.
  5. There's no limit on how many years in a row you can keep a player.
  6. Keepers and future draft picks are both trade-eligible assets.
  7. Only draft picks belonging to the current or following draft year may be traded. Picks further out than one year ahead are not trade-eligible.
  8. Keeper selections lock no later than seven (7) days before the draft. No keeper changes once locked — choose wisely.

Keepers in Trade

The fine print for when a keeper-worthy player changes hands — so nobody's roster gets to have its cake and trade it too.

  1. At the start of a new season, each GM's two keeper slots are filled first by any player received in an offseason trade — that player must be used as a keeper. Applies during the offseason only.
  2. If a GM trades a player away, one of that GM's two keeper slots becomes the draft pick(s) newly acquired in that trade.
Worked Example GM 1 trades Malik Nabers to GM 2 for a 2026 2nd- and 3rd-round pick.
  • One of GM 1's keepers is now the newly acquired 2nd-round pick.
  • One of GM 2's keepers must be Malik Nabers.

Amendments & Governance

How we change the rules once they're on the books.

  1. Beginning in 2025, any amendment or proposed rule change requires a league majority of seven (7) votes to pass.
  2. If a proposal receives 6 votes in favor but does not reach the 7-vote majority, the Commissioner will review it and determine final passage.
